Video to Playback DVD

Playback DVDs are only for viewing. If you wish to edit your footage you will need editable files.

Video tape deteriorates due to chemical and magnetic breakdown. Transferring your tapes to DVD will preserve them for many years more.

 

Standard tapes to DVD:

VHS S-VHS VHS-C Video 8 Hi8 Digital8 MiniDV - Cost per hour = £10

 

Other tapes and formats to DVD:

High Definition HDV Mini DV tapes = £15 p/hour

Mini DVD & DVD Ram Discs = £20 p/hour

Micro MV – Phillips 2000 – Betamax – U-matic – Betacam SP – DVCPRO & DVCAM = £25 p/hour

Please not when more than one tape is transferred to a DVD we have to add £3.50

Foreign Format Conversions to DVD

Different parts of the world use different television standards. Dics and tapes to be viewed in the US need to be in NTSC standard while discs and tapes to viewed in the UK need to meet the PAL standard.

NTSC (USA) to PAL (UK) or PAL (UK) to NTSC (USA) conversions to DVD just take the regular listed transfer price and add £5.00. If you have any questions here please just ask.

Cine Film to DVD

Before camcorders came along cine film was used to record moving images. There are four domestic formats;
9.5mm, 8mm, Super 8mm and 16mm.
We can transfer your cine film directly to playback DVD for viewing or to editable formats which you can then edit on your computer. For the cost of creating editable files follow this link cine film to editable DVD

 

Standard Cine film transfer charges are detailed below:

Minimum charge is £35 – price includes the first £35 spent at reel rates listed below:

50 foot reel (3” diameter approx 3-4 mins.)  = £9.00 per reel
200 foot reel (5” diameter approx 14-16 mins)  = £17.50 per reel
400 foot reel (7” diameter 28 – 32 mins)   = £25.00 per reel

Premium Cine Film Transfer

Each film is assessed, cleaned, repaired, colour corrected and edited as necessary. DVD menu pages and chapter buttons are created specific to your production.

Minimum Charge £75 – price includes the first £35 spent at reel rates listed below:

50 foot reel (3” diameter approx 3-4 mins.)  = £12.50 per reel
200 foot reel (5” diameter approx 14-16 mins)  = £25.00 per reel
400 foot reel (7” diameter 28 – 32 mins)   = £37.50 per reel

DVD to DVD copies

Additional copies of your DVDs make special presents for friends and family.

First Copy  = £10.00
Second Copy  = £7.50
Third copy  = £5.00

Bulk copying; if you need a large quantity of a single DVD we can meet your requirements. Just call us for copies of 20.

 

Slides, Negatives & Photographs transferred onto DVD

Slides, photos, and negatives can be scanned and transferred onto DVD in the form of a slideshow. The high resolution scanned images will show on your DVD for ten seconds before fading to the next image.
Please note: If slides are to be transferred in a set order then each slide must be numbered individually on the correct viewing side. We are sorry but we can not accept them only in numbered trays or carousels.

Minimum charge = £45.
Slides, photos or negatives onto DVD = £1.50 each.

We will provide a free bonus disc containing the scanned images used on your DVD is provided with all DVD orders. The disc will act as backup but you could also use it for sharing with friends and family.

 

Transfers to Mini-DV Tape

We can copy your VHS tapes and Cine Film to Mini-DV tapes. This allows you to transfer your material to your computer using your own Mini-DV camcorder.

Transfers to Mini-DV tape = £20 p/hour (Please note; this charge is in addition to the standard Video to DVD or Cine Film to DVD charge)

 

Photos from Video and DVD

‘Photographs’ can be ‘lifted’ from any Video or DVD. Please realise that the quality will not be as sharp as a regular photograph.

Minimum charge £15.00

6 x 4 prints = £10 each
7 x 5 prints = £12.50 each
8 x 6 prints = £15.00
10 x 8 prints = £17.50

To ensure that we print the correct images we will require time counter readings from the time clock on your machine (in hours, minutes, seconds) plus a brief description of each image. Please remember to rewind the video tape completely back to the start and reset the clock to 00.00.00 before starting!

 

Video to Computer file

Video and DVD can be transferred to a computer file for editing on your own computer. You will need to specify which editing software you are using and whether you are using a PC or a MAC. This is to allow us to make the files application specific.

From standard video and camcorder formats, minimum price and price per hour = £35

From tapes and formats listed below;

Minimum charge and price p/hour = £50.00

To have your DVD fully edited with menu screens and chapter buttons – the minimum charge and price per hour is £75.00

 

Editing

For £75 an hour we can edit your tapes and DVDs with menu screens and chapter buttons – just like retail DVDs.

For this service we would need to be supplied with an edit list. To create an edit list;

 

		insert your tape into your machine
		rewind it to the beginning
		reset the time counter to 00.00.00
		On an A4 piece of paper draw a line down the centre of the page
		Write the heading “Start” on the left side and “Stop” on the right side.
		Play your tape to the point at which you want the recording to start
		Write the counter reading – along with a short description under the “Start” heading
		Play the tape to the point where you want the recording to stop
		Write the counter reading – along with a short description under the “Stop” heading

 

Multimedia Cards / CD-Roms

Still images and video clips from your digital camera or mobile phone can be transferred to DVD from CDs and Multimedia cards (SD, XD, Memory Stick etc.)

Movie clips price per minute = £1.50
Still images to DVD slide show = £0.45 pence per image.
Minimum charge = £45.00

Audio Transfers

Open reel tape, cassette, records and DAT can be transferred to CD.

First Hour £24.00
Each additional 30 minutes = £8.00
Minimum charge = £24.00
